Welcome to Whittlesey Christmas Extravaganza

The Whittlesey Christmas Extravaganza was founded in 1997 by the Whittlesey Business Forum, a group of local shopkeepers and entrepreneurs dedicated to promoting trade and community life in Whittlesey.

The original aim was to create a festive event in the run-up to Christmas, encouraging late-night shopping while providing fun activities and entertainment for families. From these beginnings, the event has grown into one of the most popular Christmas events in Whittlesey.

Originally held on a Friday evening, the Extravaganza now takes place on a Saturday in December, from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m., and attracts visitors from across Whittlesey and surrounding areas.

What to Expect

The Whittlesey Christmas Extravaganza offers all the fun of the fair, including:

  • Fairground rides for children
  • Christmas market stalls
  • Face painting and live entertainment
  • Festive food and drink
  • A visit from Father Christmas

It’s a chance for the whole community to come together, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and celebrate the start of the Christmas season.

Visitors can also enjoy:

  • The town’s Christmas lights, organised by the Whittlesey Christmas Lights Committee
  • The Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church
  • A visit to the Whittlesey Museum, open during the event
